To make your experience as smooth as possible, we’ve answered the most frequently asked questions about our charters, booking process, safety procedures and on water expectations. If your question isn’t listed, feel free to contact us anytime.
1. What’s included in the charter price?
All rods, tackle and bait are provided as part of your package.
2. What should I bring?
You should bring your own food and drinks, UV-sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, wet weather clothing and sea sickness tablets if required.
4. What happens if the weather is bad or the charter is cancelled?
Your safety and comfort are our top priority. If weather or sea conditions make it unsafe to head out, the charter will be rescheduled to the next suitable date.
We’ll always do our best to find a new time that suits your group. Deposits are non-refundable, but they will be transferred in full to your rescheduled booking. You’ll be notified as early as possible if a trip needs to be postponed due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
5. What types of fish might we catch on a trip?
Trips cover a wide range: from snapper, whiting, squid/calamari in Port Phillip Bay and Westernpot, to shark and tuna offshore (e.g., mako, thresher, bronze whalers) in Bass Strait.
6. What about seasickness or motion sickness?
If you are prone to seasickness, it’s strongly recommended that you bring and/or take sea-sickness tablets prior to boarding. The boat is well sheltered, but conditions can change.
7. What clothing is appropriate & how should I dress for the conditions?
• Dress in layers, as conditions off the coast can be much cooler than on land.
• Bring a windproof/water-resistant jacket in case of spray or rain.
• Non-slip shoes are strongly recommended for safety onboard.
• On hot, sunny days you’ll also want a broad-brimmed hat and sunscreen.
• Even in summer, sea breezes can be strong, so warm clothing may still be needed.

8. Can I bring my own tackle and camera/phone for photos?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own tackle if you prefer. Also feel free to bring your own camera/phone for photos.
9. How many people are on the boat, and can we book privately?
The vessels are licensed for up to 8 passengers depending on boat. There is also the option for a private charter for your group or if you have a large number both boats can be booked.
11. What about safety and what forms do I need to complete?
All passengers must complete a Customer Declaration Form (one-page) before boarding, a requirement under Marine Safety Victoria regulations.
